So You Bought A Little Killer Squirrel Trap….

You bought our Little Killer squirrel trap…..now what?? We are going to give you some tips and tricks to be a squirrel trapping machine by Tuesday.

Step One:
Obvious enough, but, buy our Little Killer on Amazon.

Step Two:
Read the included instructions closely. Lost the instructions? Find them here.

Step Three:
Test firing the trap will determine if your trap needs any adjustments. This video will show you how to test fire & adjust.

Step Four:
Determine where the heavy squirrel traffic is located on your property. If this area is frequented by small domestic animals or children, we highly recommend placing the trap vertically on a fixture such as a tree or post. There are screw holes pre-drilled in our traps for easier hanging. We usually place the trap so that the squirrel has to climb up into the trap (it’s easier to empty the trap this way), but we have heard success stories from users hanging the trap so the squirrel has to climb down into it. Choose your method, feel free to change it up too. See what works best for you.

Step Five:
Bait the trap. We offer squirrel paste baits and lure trail scents (find them here) Our paste baits are meant to be applied to a substrate such as a cracker or piece of bread. We do not like to wipe bait directly on the trap. It leaves a sticky mess and is harder to clean up. Plus, it’s recommended to change out your bait to keep it “fresh” and attractive to squirrels and chipmunks.

Step Six:
You have a capture: great job! Emptying it is easy peasy. Decompress the spring bar and let the rodent fall out of your trap. Clean up any remnants of rodents, rebait, reset, and get another one. Happy trapping!
